‚ÄčApplications for round two of the 2017-18 program open 1 February 2018

The Community Grants Program will provide financial support to community groups for projects and events which benefit the region. Not-for-profit community groups can apply for funds that benefit the local Scenic Rim community. Grants are administered in two rounds per financial year.

Game Ready Community Projects and Activities

Scenic Rim community groups are being encouraged to get into the spirit of 2018 Commonwealth Games by applying for a share of $20,000 in grant funds. Council has funded a special grants program to provide financial assistance of up to $3000 to support community groups organising events and activities to coincide with the Games. Council’s Game Ready Community Projects and Activities grants program has been formulated to meet the needs of the community in the lead up and during next year's Games.

Sport and Recreation Grants

Applications for the 2017-18 Sport and Recreation Grants Program are now closed.  

Council recognises the valuable contribution the sport and recreation community makes in supporting the healthy and active lifestyle we enjoy within the Scenic Rim. As part of Council's commitment to assist and improve the viability of our clubs, we are inviting not-for-profit sport and recreation organisations to apply for funding from the Sport and Recreation Grants Program. Eligible projects include minor infrastructure or facility improvements and minor capital projects.

Please be advised that the guidelines are reviewed annually to ensure the program continues to meet the needs of our sport and recreation community.

Tips for a great grant

  • Remember to attach any planning documents your club may have completed such as strategic plans
  • Talk to your club members and get their input into your plans
  • Ensure you talk to Council officers regarding any development permits you may need
  • Provide a clear budget outline including any in-kind or monetary contributions from your club
  • Ring Council to discuss your project if you have any questions

Regional Arts Development Fund

The RADF program promotes the professional development and employment of arts and cultural workers in regional Queensland. It is a partnership program between Arts Queensland and Council. Council makes a bid for funding from Arts Queensland. Local arts and cultural workers' can apply to Council for funding for; professional services, travel costs to attend seminars, productions, exhibitions, workshops, research and promotion. The elected RADF committee make recommendations to Council for allocation of funds. For up to date information and supporting material visit the Live at the Centre website.

Scenic Rim Regional Council's annual Australia Day Awards program is held to acknowledge the significant contributions made by individuals and groups to the community. Being nominated for an Australia Day Award is a great honour. The Awards give the community the opportunity to publicly recognise and reward an outstanding person. You are invited to nominate a friend, family member, community leader or a colleague - the unsung heroes who you believe makes the Scenic Rim a great place to live.
