Council Local Laws

Council has in place a number of local laws to help protect the health, environment and public amenity of the region. The laws cover a broad range of issues, from dog control to use of public buildings to licensing.

Under transitional arrangements, the local laws and subordinate local laws established by the predecessor Councils (ie. Beaudesert Shire Council, Boonah Shire Council and Ipswich City Council) continue to apply to the areas which have transitioned. During 2009/10 Council proposes to commence replacement of these laws with a uniform set of local laws and subordinate local laws for its area.

To view the relevant local law for your area, please click here to be taken to the Department of Infrastructure and Planning's website.  Once you accept their conditions, you can search for the local laws by entering Scenic Rim Regional Council in the applicable box.
