Scenic Rim Regional Council has developed the Bromelton Structure Plan to provide the local community with a long term vision and a clear understanding of the development potential for the Bromelton State Development Area during the next 40 years.
The development of the Structure Plan has resulted in amendments to the Beaudesert Shire Planning Scheme 2007 (the planning scheme under which the Bromelton area is currently operating).*
Community consultation on the Draft Bromelton Structure Plan and the proposed amendments to the Beaudesert Shire Planning Scheme 2007 (also known as Amendment Package No. 3) was conducted between 12 December 2011 and 10 February 2012.
At the Special Meeting on 16 October 2012, Council resolved to adopt the finalised Bromelton Structure Plan. Subsequently, at the Ordinary Meeting on 30 October 2012, Council resolved to adopt the Beaudesert Shire Planning Scheme 2007 Amendment Package No. 3 (Bromelton Structure Plan) which took effect on the 23 November 2012.
*The proposed planning scheme amendments are only applicable to applications involving Subdivision (Reconfiguration of a Lot, Operational Works and Building Works not associated with a Material Change of Use.)
