Environmental Grants Program

Grants for 2009/2010

Grants for environmental projects in 2009/2010 are now open for consideration.  Eligible recipients include community groups, schools and private property landowners who currently participate in a Council conservation program (e.g. Land for Wildlife and Voluntary Conservation Covenants). Eligible projects include:

  • Care of local Council-owned bushland
  • Weed control and habitat restoration
  • Riparian restoration
  • Native flora planting (to form corridors, etc)
  • Enhancement of existing wildlife habitat
  • Flora and fauna surveys
  • Species recovery and
  • Environmental education and awareness

Submitted applications will be assessed for their environmental outcomes for the region. Applicants are encouraged to read the Guidelines to Applicants to determine the range of suitable projects that may be funded.  In crafting a project for consideration, applicants ought to contact Council’s Environment Section on 5540 5444 for assistance. Applications close 18 September, 2009.
