Scenic Rim Region contains more than 30,000 hectares of parkland, including National Parks and Council-controlled parks. The region also contains two dams; Lake Maroon and Lake Moogerah with a third, Wyaralong Dam, currently under construction. Lake Moogerah has an associated caravan park and camping ground which is a favourite with fishermen and holiday makers. These areas are a great drawcard for residents and visitors alike.

Council owns a number of camping grounds in the Scenic Rim region, some of which are managed by private operators.

Mt Chinghee National Park No walking tracks or facilities at the national park	Andrew Drynan Park Andrew Drynan Park is 47km from Beaudesert and 19km from Rathdowney on the Lions Road, south of Beaudesert, and Running Creek. It has an impressive backdrop formed by Mt Chinghee. The drive from Brisbane will take a couple of hours. The park is divided by Lions Road and care should be taken with children. Running Creek is a lovely flowing creek which is very inviting in summer and the park offers a great bush camp among the tall trees. As some of the pools are deep, children should be supervised. Toilets, BBQs, picnic tables and swimming. BYO drinking water. Pets to be restrained. No showers -- a dip in the creek will keep you clean. Please don’t use soap or detergent. Lamington National Park EPA website	Green Mountains Campground Situated on the side of a grassy sloping hill with tent and campervan sites cut into the slope. An informal dirt road rings the camp sites. All walking tracks are located within easy walking distance. The commercially managed O’Reilly’s Rainforest Resort is nearby on private land. Stinson Park Barbecues, new toilets, BYO drinking water, no pets. Pay in Honesty Box. No booking required. Directions: Take Mt Lindesay Highway at Beaudesert (towards Rathdowney). At Laravale (15km) turn left into Christmas Creek Rd. Park located on Christmas Creek adjacent to Lamington National Fitness Camp, about 42km south of Beaudesert. As campers set up their tents on Stinson Park, some may recall the heroic actions of Bernard O’Reilly and other locals in 1937 when a small commercial passenger plane crashed in thick rainforest. The campsite in Christmas Creek Rd was the base of operations for the rescue party, who trekked 10km through the bush to save two men, still alive 10 days after their Stinson airliner “City of Brisbane” disappeared on a flight from Brisbane to Sydney.	$3.50 per adult, $2 per child (five to 15) or $10 per family. Bigriggen Park / Bigriggen Reserve Located only an hour and a half from both the Gold Coast and Brisbane, Bigriggen Park is far enough to “get away”, yet close enough to spend less time travelling to a weekend escape. Relax and unwind amid peaceful surroundings and natural wonders just waiting to be explored. Bigriggen Park is set on 100 acres of high hilltops and gentle river flats, surrounded by National Parks and bordered by the Logan River and Burnett Creek. There’s plenty to do, including bush walking, fishing, swimming and watersports at nearby dams, exploring the Scenic Rim and more. Bring your canoe and bicycle or relax. Flanagan Reserve On the Logan River, great for swimming and fishing, lots of shade, ideal for caravans. Popular for bushwalkers. Situated in the shadows of Mt Barney National Park about 45km from Beaudesert and 105km from Brisbane. Close to, but not next to, Mt Maroon, Mt Barney and Mt Lindesay, this is a popular area for bush walkers. Directions: From Mt Lindesay Highway, Rathdowney, turn right into Boonah-Rathdowney Rd, travel 8km and turn left into Upper Logan Rd. Lake Moogerah Lake Moogerah was formed when Reynald’s Creeks, a tributary of the Bremmer River, was dammed in 1961. The lake is located approximately 15km west of Boonah.
