JOin Summer School Holiday Program

Whatever the weather, join in the fun by participating in Council's JOin School Holiday Program with activities taking place at Council's cultural centres, libraries, parks and pools. Click here to view the current program. 


Story Time in the Park

Parents and caregivers with children under five (all ages welcome) are invited to come and enjoy a fun and interactive session of songs, rhymes, books and creativity. Story Time in the Park is an initiative by Scenic Rim Regional Libraries, the First 5 Forever Program and Mununjali Housing Development Company to increase awareness of the importance of language and literacy for children under five years of age. Playgroups and family day care providers are welcome. For more tips on how to help your young child’s language and literacy, visit the First 5 Forever website.

Book Clubs

Beaudesert Library
First Monday Bookclub meet 1st Monday of each month at 1pm to 3pm.
Second Thursday Bookclub meets 2nd Thursday of each month at 1pm to 3pm. 

Boonah Library
At Boonah Library there are two book club gatherings scheduled for the last Tuesday of each month. 2pm is the Boonah Book Lovers Club and 5pm is the Boonah Book Cover To Cover Book Club.

Mobile Library
Kooralbyn Bookclub meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 1pm at the Mobile Library, Kooralbyn.

Tamborine Mountain Library 
Last Thursday Bookclub meets on the last Thursday of each month at 2pm. 
Gilt-edges Classics Bookclub meets on the last Wednesday of each month at 9:30am.



New Residents & Community Connections Morning

Come along and meet community members and representatives of local groups to find out how you can make the most of Scenic Rim living.

Beaudesert Library
Beaudesert Library holds these information sessions twice yearly, usually in May and November. To register your attendance please phone, email or visit the library.

Tamborine Mountain Library
Meetings are held at the Tamborine Mountain Library several times a year. Please contact the library for future dates.

Beaudesert Library

  • Yack and Yarn group meets every Tuesday (excluding school holidays) from 9:30am to 12noon.  
  • Welcome to New Residents sessions held throughout the year.
  • Justice of the Peace available every Saturday from 9:30am to 11:30am.

Boonah Library

  • Craft Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 10am.
  • U3A Family History Group meets on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 9:30am
  • Boonah Archives are open to the public every Friday from 2pm to 4:30pm. 
  • U3A Sequence/Quiddlea cards Mondays at 9:30am.
  • Justice of the Peace available every Thursday from 11am to 1pm.

Tamborine Mountain Library

  • Good Afternoon presents community stories or interests. Held 2nd Tuesday of each month at 2pm.
  • Slow Sewing group meets every 1st and 3rd Saturday from 9:30am to explore slow sewing and discover ways to modify outfits in their wardrobe. 
  • Friends of Tamborine Mountain Library second-hand book sale held quarterly - contact the library for details. 
  • Justice of the Peace available at the library on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am - 12pm

Digital Days (Technical Support Sessions)

Need some technical support? We can help. Book a free 30 minute 'Digital Days' training session at our Beaudesert, Boonah or Tamborine Mountain libraries. Our staff can help you to learn a range of basic useful technical skills, like how to use a computer or tablet device, navigating social media, shopping online or accessing government services online.

Friends of the Library

Friends of Libraries are non-profit, charitable groups formed to support libraries in communities. We currently have Friends groups supporting Tamborine Mountain Library and Beaudesert/Mobile libraries. The Boonah and District Cultural Foundation supports the Boonah Library. If you are interested in joining a Friends of the Library group, contact your local library.


Library Familiarisation Sessions

All branches hold Library Familiarisation Sessions on  Saturday's at 10am. This a short tour (10-15 minutes), where staff will walk through the library pointing out the different collections and communicating information about the services we provide. It is also an opportunity to ask questions. No bookings required.
