Rhyme Time Party For Little Readers

Beaudesert's littlest readers are invited to join in Scenic Rim's Rhyme Time Party at Beaudesert library on Monday 11 February.

The event will include an interactive morning of songs, rhymes and books plus a special morning tea to celebrate the launch of the new weekly rhyme time session aimed at children three years and under.

Mayor Greg Christensen said the First5Forever Rhyme Time program was not only about sharing stories and rhymes, singing, talking and playing with your child, but introducing literacy skills as early as possible.

"Research shows that up to 90 per cent of a child's brain development happens in the first five years," he said.

"Not only is it fun to attend Rhyme Time sessions but we know that babies and children love stories and songs."

Beaudesert Rhyme Time will be a free weekly activity from 9:30am at Beaudesert Library.

All parents, caregivers and family day care providers are invited to bring their children under three along.
