Sport and Recreation Grants Program

Council recognises the valuable contribution the sport and recreation community makes in supporting the healthy and active lifestyle we enjoy within the Scenic Rim. As part of Council's commitment to assist and improve the viability of our clubs, we are inviting not-for-profit sport and recreation organisations to apply for funding from the Sport and Recreation Grants Program.

This initiative is to assist not-for-profit, incorporated sport and recreation groups with capital projects, equipment and/or construction materials for the maintenance and/or improvement of facilities. Council's new Sport and Recreation Grants program also provides a leverage opportunity for clubs preparing for larger facility projects.

Important dates

The 2017/2018 Sport and Recreation Grants Program closing date has been extended 25 August 2017.  Eligible projects include minor infrastructure or facility improvements and minor capital projects.

Tips for a great grant

  • Remember to attach any planning documents your club may have completed such as strategic plans
  • Talk to your club members and get their input into your plans
  • Ensure you talk to Council officers regarding any development permits you may need
  • Provide a clear budget outline including any in-kind or monetary contributions from your club
  • Ring us to discuss your project if you have any questions

Please be advised that the guidelines are reviewed annually to ensure the program continues to meet the needs of our sport and recreation community.
