Work Experience

Council has a non-paid work experience program which is available all year. The program gives high school and tertiary students the opportunity to gain practical on-the-job experience and skills in a medium and diverse organisation.

Work experience also helps you make an informed decision about your future career.

Work experience is available to students of all south east Queensland regional community institutions:

  • High Schools
  • TAFE Colleges
  • Schools for people with disabilities
  • Approved work experience referral agencies
  • Universities (if work experience is a mandatory requirement to complete the relevant course)

Work experience positions are unpaid. All students must be registered with a recognised school, tertiary institution or referral agency that covers them for personal insurance, public liability and professional indemnity.

How to apply

You must apply at least four weeks before you want to start work experience. Council cannot accept all applicants.
