THE following works are programmed for the week commencing Monday, 20 May 2019.
Road reconstruction works are continuing on Kilmoylar Road, Kagaru. These works are the third and final stage of the Kilmoylar Road Upgrade project; with works continuing from the previous stage through to the intersection with Undullah Road. Works involve the construction of a 9 metre wide bitumen sealed road, improved horizontal and vertical alignment, drainage upgrade and an improved intersection with Undullah Road. This project is jointly funded by Council and the Australian Government under the Roads to Recovery Program.
Road rehabilitation works are continuing on a 1.3kilometre section of Sugarloaf Road, Mutdapilly, from its intersection with the Cunningham Highway. These works involve the reconstruction of a 7-metre wide bitumen seal, improved horizontal and vertical alignment and drainage upgrades. This project is funded by Council's Capital Works Program.
Culvert rehabilitation works are continuing along Helen Street, Beaudesert. These works involve the removal and replacement of existing pavement and culvert units. The road works are funded by the Australian and Queensland governments via the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) and the culvert replacement is being funded by Council.
Works are continuing on the upgrade of Beechmont Road, from Millie Court through to Sharp Bridge, Witheren, as well as the replacement of Sharp Bridge, Botan Bridge, and Back Creek Bridge. The bridge replacement programme is jointly funded by the Australian Government and Council, under the Bridges Renewal Programme, with a portion of the roadworks jointly funded by the State Government and Council, under the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme.
Works are continuing on the corner of Yeates Avenue and Railway Street, Boonah. Works involve footpath and streetscape upgrade, which are intended to complement the local character of the area. This project is delivered under Council's Vibrant and Active Towns and Villages Program.
Bridge restoration works are continuing on Washpool Bridge, Aratula.
Council is continuing its Road Grading Program, with works to be undertaken on J Bell Road, Coochin, Minto Road and Watson Road, Croftby, Ski Zone Road, Moogerah, Titmarsh Road, Mt Alford, Blantyre Road and Sweeney Road, Roadvale.
Council is progressing with its Road Resheeting Program, with shoulder works to be undertaken on sections of Veresdale Scrub Road.
Scheduled major culvert inspections and are to be undertaken on various structures throughout the region.
Due to heavy rainfall and flooding associated with ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie in March 2017, a section of Duck Creek Road suffered severe damage, making it totally impassable by all vehicles. Vehicle access is closed to all vehicles and will remain closed until further notice.
