Scenic Rim Road Updates
THE following works are programmed for the week commencing Monday 7 September 2020.
LONG ROAD, TAMBORINE MOUNTAIN - FOOTPATH
Footpath construction works are continuing on Long Road, Tamborine Mountain. Works involve the construction of a pedestrian refuge connection on Curtis Road linking Goodstart Early Learning Centre to an 80 metre ramp on the northern side to Long Road opposite Tamborine Mountain State School. This project will be constructed in several stages, including stormwater drainage and a retaining wall. During stormwater works, eastbound traffic on Curtis Road will be closed during and after hours, with traffic diverted via Geissmann Drive, Eagle Heights Road and Long Road. Appropriate signage will be in place. This project is funded by Council's Capital Works Program.
CHRISTMAS CREEK ROAD, CHRISTMAS CREEK
Road reconstruction works are continuing on Christmas Creek Road, Christmas Creek, approximately 2.5 kilometres south of Tramway Road. Works involve the construction of an 8 metre wide bitumen seal, improved horizontal and vertical alignment, and drainage upgrades. This project is a joint initiative of the Queensland Government under the Transport Infrastructure Delivery Scheme and Council's Capital Works Program.
BEECHMONT ROAD, WITHEREN
Road upgrade works are continuing on Beechmont Road, Witheren, between Sharp Bridge and Botan Creek Bridge. Works involve reconstructing the road with a wider bitumen seal, improved visibility along the road, safer curves and better drainage. The intersection with Tucker Lane will also be upgraded with better sight distance to traffic on Beechmont Road. This project is jointly funded by Council and the Australian Government under the Roads to Recovery Program.
BOYLAND ROAD, BOYLAND - CAVELL BRIDGE
Bridge replacement works are continuing on Boyland Road, Boyland, at Cavell Bridge with the construction of a two-lane concrete structure. The bridge replacement project is jointly funded by Council and the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Bridges Renewal Programme Round Three.
Council is continuing its Road Grading Program, with works to be undertaken on Tunstall Road, Bunjurgen; Cannon Creek Road, Cannon Creek; Flying Fox Road and Upper Coomera Road, Ferny Glen; Parson Gate Road, Frazerview; and Horan Road, Silverdale, with shoulder works on Oaky Creek Road, Oaky Creek, and Karen Court and Munstervale Road, Tamborine.
Duck Creek Road, Kerry
Due to heavy rainfall and flooding associated with ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie in March 2017, a section of Duck Creek Road suffered severe damage, making it totally impassable by all vehicles. Vehicle access is closed to all vehicles and will remain closed until further notice.
