Scenic Rim Road Updates
THE following works are programmed for the week commencing Monday 29 June 2020.
MOUNT LINDESAY HIGHWAY, BEAUDESERT
Upgrade works are continuing at the intersection of Enterprise Drive and Mount Lindesay Highway. The upgrade works include the relocation of the service road entry away from the intersection, widening of the Mount Lindesay Highway and installation of traffic signals including pedestrian signals. Construction is currently programmed to continue to August 2020. These works are funded by the Queensland Government and Council.
MEIER STREET, PEAK CROSSING
Reconstruction works are continuing on Meier Street, Peak Crossing. These works involve the reconstruction of the road, kerb and channel and reshaping of the nature strip to improve drainage. This project is funded by Council's Capital Works Program.
MUNBILLA ROAD, MILORA
Road reconstruction works are continuing on Munbilla Road, Milora, between Hall Road and Goame Road. Works involve improved road alignment, as well as improved curve geometry. The project also includes the installation of hazard protection (guardrail) at the approaches to Dinner Camp Bridge, north of the road reconstruction site. This project is delivered under the Australian Government's Black Spot Program.
BEECHMONT ROAD, WITHEREN
Road upgrade works are continuing on Beechmont Road, Witheren, between Sharp Bridge and Botan Creek Bridge. Works involve reconstructing the road with a wider bitumen seal, improved visibility along the road, safer curves and better drainage. Also, the intersection with Tucker Lane will be upgraded with better sight distance to traffic on Beechmont Road. This project is jointly funded by Council and the Australian Government under the Roads to Recovery Program.
SANDY CREEK ROAD, BROMELTON - S TODD BRIDGE
Bridge replacement works are nearing completion on Sandy Creek Road, Bromelton at S Todd Bridge with the construction of road approaches to the newly constructed two-lane concrete structure. The bridge replacement project is jointly funded by Council and the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Bridges Renewal Programme Round Three.
ROUND MOUNTAIN ROAD, LARAVALE - ROUND MOUNTAIN BRIDGE
Bridge rehabilitation works are continuing on Round Mountain Bridge, Round Mountain Road, Laravale.
BOYLAND ROAD, BOYLAND - CAVELL BRIDGE
Bridge replacement works are continuing on Boyland Road, Boyland, at Cavell Bridge with the construction of a two-lane concrete structure. The bridge replacement project is jointly funded by Council and the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Bridges Renewal Programme Round Three.
Council is progressing with its Road Resheeting Program, with works to be undertaken on Tamrookum Creek Road, Tamrookum Creek and The Hollow Road, Josephville, as well as shoulder works on Christmas Creek Road.
BRIDGE AND CULVERT MAINTENANCE
Scheduled bridge maintenance and culvert maintenance works are to be undertaken on various structures throughout the region.
Duck Creek Road, Kerry
Due to heavy rainfall and flooding associated with ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie in March 2017, a section of Duck Creek Road suffered severe damage, making it totally impassable by all vehicles. Vehicle access is closed to all vehicles and will remain closed until further notice.
