Road maintenance activities continue to be undertaken on various roads across the region.
Due to infrastructure damage, Bromelton House Road has been reduced to a single lane (approximately 4.2 metres in width) at Damm Damm Gully. Temporary traffic lights have been installed to manage the changed traffic conditions through this site.
Bridge replacement works are continuing on Sharp Bridge, Botan Bridge and Back Creek Bridge. The project includes road upgrade works on sections of Beechmont Road, as well as the construction of three dual lane bridges. This project is co-funded by Council and the Australian Government as part of the national Bridges Renewal Programme.
Due to heavy rainfall and flooding associated with ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie in March 2017, a section of Duck Creek Road suffered severe damage, making it totally impassable by all vehicles. Vehicle access is closed to all vehicles and will remain closed until further notice.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads 131940 website provides information about the conditions on major roads controlled by the State in addition to Local Roads of Regional Significance.
It can indicate road closures or delays due to traffic incidents, roadworks or flooding.
