Water for Warrill Irrigation Project
In 2020 Warrill Valley Irrigators approached Council seeking financial support for a feasibility study on potential new water supply opportunities and projects for the Warrill and Fassifern Valleys.
Council engaged Jacobs to undertake the study to map where the investment should logically be, assess demand for additional water and conduct a full economic impact analysis.
To assess the demand for additional water supply in the Warrill and Fassifern Valleys, Council, with industry experts Jacobs, hosted community information sessions in Harrisville and Kalbar in late February 2021.
More than 100 people attended both meetings, showing strong interest in the proposed project.
Relevant community members, producers, farmers, irrigators and financial institutions are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to understand demand for additional water.
Expressions of interest closed on Monday 15 March 2021.
