From enchanted worlds to out-of-this-world holiday fun
Published on 10 June 2026
From space-themed library activities to wildlife encounters and art classes, Scenic Rim Regional Council is delivering a vibrant winter school holiday program for local children and families.
The program for the school holidays, which run from 27 June to 12 July, has been designed to provide fun, educational and inclusive opportunities for local children, teens and families.
Scenic Rim's Community, Arts and Culture Portfolio Councillor Kerri Cryer said Council's cultural and library programs offer young people the opportunity explore new experiences while giving parents access to affordable local activities.
"The school holidays can be a juggle for families, so we’re pleased to offer a program that is creative, affordable and fun," she said.
"This diverse program aims to keep young people engaged, active and connected during the break from school.
The program at Council's cultural centres focuses on an enchanted world of art while Scenic Rim libraries will be offering out-of-this-world space-themed activities.
LEGO Masters Australia star Andrew Tuppen returns to the Scenic Rim for what promises to be another highly popular series of workshops at Council's libraries.
At just $5 for all tickets, the kids' movie sessions at Boonah, Beaudesert and Tamborine Mountain offer great value for families to enjoy the school holidays together.
Full program details of the library and cultural events are available on Council’s website and social media channels.
“While some activities don’t require bookings, some specialised clinics and workshops do, so families are encouraged to register early as places may be limited," Cr Cryer said.
