Nominations open for 2027 Australia Day Awards
Published on 24 September 2026
It's time to recognise Scenic Rim's quiet achievers with nominations now open for the region's 2027 Australia Day Awards.
Mayor Tom Sharp said the selfless work and dedication of many volunteers and community groups often went unnoticed.
"The Australia Day Awards are an opportunity to recognise the people who make a difference across the Scenic Rim," he said.
“It's a place where community spirit thrives and these awards are a way of saying thank you to those who go above and beyond for their neighbours, friends and community.
“Whether it’s a volunteer who has organised a great local event, a young person doing inspiring things, a respected community leader, or a neighbour who has shown extraordinary kindness, we want to hear their stories.
"Now is the time to reflect on the year that was and the work of the people and projects that have improved our lives individually and as a community.
"Please take the time to nominate someone special - it's a small way to recognise and celebrate their outstanding achievements.
"The Australia Day Awards are our community's chance to shine a light on those who help make the Scenic Rim such a great place to live."
