Community budget update sessions
Published on 19 June 2026
Scenic Rim residents are invited to attend a series of community budget update sessions as Council prepares to deliver its 2026-2027 Budget.
Running from Tuesday 23 June to Thursday 25 June, the sessions will be held at Beaudesert, Boonah and Tamborine Mountain to update the community on priorities for the year ahead and the context in which the 2026-2027 Budget has been developed.
CEO David Keenan said Council had deliberated over the budget for several months to ensure a balance between community needs and the current challenging economic environment.
"Like many councils across Queensland, Scenic Rim faces the challenges of escalating costs for fuel, materials and labour - all while continuing to deliver the services and infrastructure to meet the needs of a growing region," he said.
"Council is aware that the cost pressures it is experiencing are also being keenly felt by Scenic Rim residents and business operators and has worked to frame a budget that reduces as much as possible the financial burden on ratepayers."
"I hope members of the community will make the most of this opportunity through these update sessions to learn more about the budget process and how Council is working to ensure every dollar in the budget is carefully considered so that it delivers real and tangible value for residents to maintain services and infrastructure that the community relies on every day."
