Rates Payments

Council offers a range of payment options for rate notices.

Credit Card or Bank Account

Pay with your credit card (MasterCard and Visa accepted) or pre-registered* bank account.


* Registration is required for payments from cheque or savings accounts. Please complete the once-only registration when paying for the first time using internet or telephone payments. You do not need to re-register for the internet service if already registered for phone payments. Registration is NOT required for credit card payments.

Direct Debit

Periodic Direct Debit: Your chosen amount is deducted every second Thursday from your nominated account.

Lump Sum Direct Debit: The amount required to pay the rates account in full is deducted from your nominated bank account on the due date for payment.  It is the responsibility of the ratepayer to ensure that sufficient funds are available on the date of processing. Direct Debit Authorisations are available from the Forms section of the website.



To pay by phone from your credit card (MasterCard and Visa accepted) or pre-registered* bank account, phone 1300 061 142 to make payments. The phone payment line is a 24-hour service and calls are charged at the cost of a local call (mobiles extra).



Contact your participating financial institution, to make payment directly from your cheque or savings account. Enter the Biller Code and BPAY reference number as detailed on the front of your current rate notice. The correct biller code must be used for BPAY payments as separate biller codes apply for rates, animal registrations and licensing compliance.

In Person

Council Offices

Visit one of Council's Customer Service Centres at Beaudesert, Boonah and Tamborine Mountain. EFTPOS facilities available (no cash out). Post-dated cheques cannot be accepted.


Australia Post agencies

Present your rate notice to make a payment by cash, cheque, Visa, MasterCard or EFTPOS. Cheques payable to "Scenic Rim Regional Council".


All rates are due and payable within thirty-one (31) days from the date of issue shown on the rate notice. Council offers a discount (where applicable) only if the total amount of all rates and charges including overdue amounts is paid on or before the due date for payment.

Council levies interest on all overdue rates or charges calculated at a rate of 9% per annum compounded monthly.

Rate notices via email

To receive your rate notice by email please complete the Electronic Issue of Rate Notice Consent Form and return it to Council. By providing consent to participate in the electronic delivery system for rate notices a paper copy will no longer be posted. The rate notice will be emailed as a PDF attachment
Any change in your email address must be notified to Council by completing a Change of Details (address or email) form or by contacting us in writing by email, fax or post. Only one email address (per person) can be recorded with Council for rate notice delivery.
