Libraries
Residents have Internet access to a full library catalogue of more than 100,000 books. The Scenic Rim Region has four public libraries and a mobile library.

Catalogue
The Library Catalogue allows you to look up your favourite authors and topics of interest. Reserve books, videos, music CDs and talking books. You may also review your loans and reservations and check your borrower details such as your address.

Adult Craft Club meets the first and third Wednesday of the month from 10am at Beaudesert Library.
Origami Club for ages eight to 12. Every Wednesday, 3:30pm at Tamborine Mountain Library.
Membership
Membership is free to all permanent residents of the Scenic Rim Region. New members need to show proof of identity and residence. Temporary membership is available to non-residents on payment of a refundable $30.
Scenic Rim Regional Library Service has full reciprocal borrowing rights with Logan City Council Library Service. Members of either service will be able to borrow freely from both library services regardless of council boundaries. Members of the former Beaudesert Library Service who are now residents of Logan City will retain their existing membership and library card. A separate library card will be required for each service.
Members of the Peak Crossing and Harrisville areas will retain their membership of the Ipswich Library Service.
Borrowing
A Library Card is necessary to borrow at all of the Scenic Rim Region's Libraries. Ten items may be borrowed at any one time for a period of three weeks. Loans may be extended if necessary. Books not available at the time of your visit may be reserved. A $1 fine is charged per reminder notice for overdue books.
Special Materials and Services
The Scenic Rim Region's Libraries not only stock a wide variety of reading books, but also a large selection of large print books, picture books and local studies. Members are encouraged to use other services including audio and video cassettes, CD-ROMs, internet use, word processing and photocopying. Fun events such as craft sessions and Internet training for children and seniors are held at some branches. A housebound service is also available to anyone in the Scenic Rim Region who is genuinely in need of it. Contact Council's Library Staff for further information regarding the above.
Boonah Public Library allows members to use its computers for internet browsing. A charge of $5 per half hour applies to internet use. Two free printed sheets of paper are included.

Floppy Discs can be purchased for $1 each.
Recordable CDs can be purchased for $1 each
EBSCO Publishing
EBSCO Publishing offers a broad range of full text and bibliographic databases designed to meet the reference needs of all library types worldwide. EBSCO has designed its search interfaces to seamlessly interact with other electronic resources held in a library’s collection -- effectively creating a one-stop research environment.
This database is made available through the State Library of Queensland, OPAL (Online Public Access in Libraries) project.
Health and Wellness Resource Center
Gale Encyclopedia of Medicine, Health and Wellness Resource Center delivers up-to-date reference material as well as full-text magazines, journals, and pamphlets from a wide variety of authoritative medical sources. Additionally, consumers, students, and professionals are provided with descriptions of and links to several pertinent Web sites, selected for their usefulness and appropriateness.
This database is made available through theState Library of Queensland, OPAL (Online Public Access in Libraries) project.

Archives
If you have old and not so old photographs, documents or letters relating to regional activities that are of general interest, don’t throw them away! Deposit them with one of your local libraries where they will be stored safely for future generations.
The The Boonah Archives are open from 2pm to 4pm on Fridays or at other times by appointment and are located in the Boonah and District Cultural Centre at the rear of the Library. Volunteer staff are available to assist you with enquiries regarding the history of the Region.
