Motorists and pedestrians are being asked to take extra care as Council begins bitumen resealing on sections of a number of roads at Tamborine Mountain and Canungra in coming weeks. Deputy Mayor and Division 1 Councillor Nigel Waistell said works are scheduled to commence in the next fortnight, weather permitting, in line with Council's commitment to delivering an accessible and serviced region.

The Scenic Rim's unsung heroes and quiet achievers will be honoured in a Council awards presentation in conjunction with a citizenship ceremony on the eve of Australia Day. The invitation-only presentation at The Centre Beaudesert on Wednesday 25 January will celebrate the sporting and cultural contribution of events and individuals to the Scenic Rim during 2016.

Tickets are still available for Scenic Rim appearances by legendary rugby league coach Wayne Bennett on 20 and 21 January.
