28 NOVEMBER - BUSINESS COMMUNITY GATHERS TO CELEBRATE AWARDS

The Scenic Rim Business Community were showcased tonight at the sold-out 2014 Business Excellence Awards gala event held at The Centre, Beaudesert.

2 DECEMBER - COUNCIL WELCOMES BEAUDESERT NBN ROLLOUT

Beaudesert is among the 81 Queensland communities announced to receive the rollout of the new multi-technology National Broadband Network by 2016. 3000 homes and businesses will be plugged into the high-speed telecommunications service.

25 NOVEMBER - WASTE EDUCATION A COLOURFUL COMPETITION

Gary Green, the new mascot for Council's Waste Education Program, received a colourful welcome by primary school students across the Scenic Rim. Students were encouraged to participate in the 'Name The Mascot' and 'Reduce My Waste Initiative' colouring-in competition with over 250 entries received.

25 NOVEMBER - 2013/14 ANNUAL REPORT ADOPTED BY COUNCIL

Council today signed off on its 2013/14 Annual Report. Mayor John Brent said the document provided the community with a snapshot of Council’s financial and operational performance and achievements during 2013/14.

25 NOVEMBER - RADF GRANTS SUPPORT COMMUNITY ARTS INITIATIVES

Community exhibitions commemorating the Anzac Centenary in 2015 and programs to build local theatrical skills are among the programs funding in the latest Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) round. RADF provides funding for community-based projects supporting professional and emerging artists and arts practitioners living in regional Queensland.
