Council endorses its fees and charges for 2025-2026
With a continued focus on cost recovery and minimising the financial burden on ratepayers, Scenic Rim Regional Council has adopted its fees and charges for 2025-2026.
At its Ordinary Meeting today, Council approved its Register of Fees and Charges, effective 1 July 2025, for businesses and individuals for a range of services and facilities ranging from animal management to waste services in preparation for its 2025-2026 Budget.
Scenic Rim Mayor Tom Sharp said Council’s fees and charges represented a key component of its 2025-2026 budget, considering overall rates for residents and businesses and ensuring the application of cost-recovery principles.
"An ongoing challenge facing council in developing its budget is in providing services at a fair and reasonable cost to the community," he said.
“The estimated revenue from Council’s fees and charges for 2025-2026 is forecast to contribute some $10.722 million towards Council's revenue for the year ahead.
"The fees and charges which have been adopted reflect the wide-ranging services that Council delivers to the community and our commitment to minimising as far as possible the burden on ratepayers by taking a user-pays approach."
Council’s Register of Fees and Charges will be available on its website scenicrim.qld.gov.au/
