Work Experience and Volunteering
Scenic Rim Regional Council acknowledges the important contribution made by volunteers who work with Council staff to help facilitate a range of community services and programs throughout the Scenic Rim. To find out more about becoming a volunteer, please read our Volunteer Handbook.
There are many opportunities for members of the community to volunteer at Council's cultural centres, events and festivals and libraries, as outlined in the fact sheets below
To take the first step towards becoming a volunteer, please complete the VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM.
Council provides a non-paid work experience program year-round to give high school and tertiary students the opportunity to gain practical on-the-job experience and skills. Work experience also helps participants make an informed decision about their future career.
Work experience is available to students of all South East Queensland regional community institutions including: high schools, TAFE colleges, schools for people with disabilities, approved work experience referral agencies, and universities (if work experience is a mandatory requirement of course).
Work experience positions are unpaid. All students must be registered with a recognised school, tertiary institution or referral agency that covers them for personal insurance, public liability and professional indemnity.
How to apply
You must apply at least four weeks before you want to start work experience. Council cannot accept all applicants. School students should return a completed Work Experience Application to their school work experience coordinator or other representative so they can send them to Council at the address below. TAFE and other university students can return the completed forms to Council at the address below.
