Scenic Rim Regional Council has ensured the 2025 Boonah Show will go on, approving $25,000 in one-off funding support for this week's event.

At yesterday’s Ordinary Meeting, Council approved the funding to support the show which is a money-spinner for the Boonah and wider Scenic Rim community.

Scenic Rim Mayor Tom Sharp said the decision to support the funding request from the Boonah Show Society through a one-off payment recognised exceptional circumstances surrounding this year's show.

"The show has been part of Boonah since 1898 and brings the community together in celebration of our region's produce, its farmers and our local history and culture,” he said.

"Council's support will ensure the success and continued longevity of the show, to be held on Friday 30 May and Saturday 31 May."

Division 5 Councillor Marshall Chalk said Council's one-off funding for the 2025 Boonah Show underscored its support for the Boonah community.

"The Boonah Show has everything you could expect from a good old-style country show and continues to attract a very large crowd," he said.

“This is a great event, one I’ve attended every year for most of my life.

“It is a significant annual event in our community, run by a dedicated group of volunteers, showcasing the spirit of our region and providing a valuable opportunity to share our rural heritage with the next generation.

"I encourage everyone to attend the show this year so that it can continue to thrive into the future."
