The Tamborine Mountain State Emergency Service (SES) has received a significant boost in equipment, valued at approximately $33,000, thanks to the Energising Queensland SES Equipment Program.

Energy providers Energex, Ergon Network (as part of Energy Queensland) and Powerlink Queensland reaffirmed their long-standing partnership with SES this week by handing over equipment to support the safety and resilience of local communities.

Division 1 Councillor Amanda Hay said the new equipment would make a tangible difference to the Scenic Rim community.

"This investment ensures SES volunteers have the tools they need to respond quickly, safely and effectively when disasters strikes,” Cr Hay said.

“In particular, the Tamborine Mountain SES plays a critical role during storm season on the mountain, and this program recognises their commitment while building community resilience for the future.”

The equipment package includes a chainsaw, powerpack, resuscitation models, generator, Makita tools, magnetic cardholders and a single-wheeled Mule Wheel Stretcher Transporter designed for use in difficult terrain.

Across the state, the Energising Queensland SES Equipment Program delivered $300,000 worth of equipment in the last financial year, with another round of similar value to commence shortly.

The program is a Queensland Government initiative aimed at ensuring SES volunteers are equipped with safe, modern and reliable tools for storm and flood response, land search and rescue, road crash assistance, temporary repairs, and community preparedness activities.

Tamborine Mountain SES member Casey McConnell, who was recognised with a 2025 Australia Day Achievement Award for her efforts during the 2023–2024 Christmas and New Year storms, was among those celebrating the donation.
