Erica Bartle, who helped shine the international spotlight on the Scenic Rim, will join former professional off-road motorcycle racer Jemma Wilson as a guest speaker at Council's free International Women's Day breakfast celebration next month.

Erica is part of the ethical jeans company, Outland Denim, which famously dressed Meghan Markle, otherwise known as the Duchess of Sussex, during her Australian tour last year and Jemma is an international celebrity in her own right.

Mayor Greg Christensen has issued an open invitation, with an RSVP date of 25 February, to women of the Scenic Rim to hear these inspirational speakers at the free breakfast at The Centre, Beaudesert on Friday 8 March.

"It will be a pleasure for me to share the stage with Erica, who is a working mother of two from Tamborine Mountain and who maintains the brand of Outland Denim, our own local jeans company which is changing the lives of young women in Cambodia through its profit-for-purpose business model," he said.

"Jemma, who has won eight State Championships, four Australian Offroad Championships, five Womens World Cup Team Championships and competed in the World Enduro GP’s as a privateer until retiring last year, also has an inspiring story to tell."

This year's International Women's Day breakfast celebrates the positive change and contribution that women make across the Scenic Rim community under the banner of Balance For Better.

Cr Christensen said the breakfast was a great way to network and catch-up with old friends while celebrating the women of the Scenic Rim community.

Bookings for the breakfast, which begins at 6.45am, are essential due to limited places. To RSVP, phone 5540 5399 or email events@scenicrim.qld.gov.au as soon as possible and no later than Monday 25 February.
