Scenic Rim residents can Get Savvy about their health, wellbeing and government and community services at three free expos being staged across the region next month.

The Get Savvy expos will be held at The Centre Beaudesert, Tamborine Mountain Library and Boonah Cultural Centre, where more than 40 stallholders will be offering free giveaways and information on a range of issues including disability services, support for seniors, legal rights, financial planning and healthy living.

Mayor Greg Christensen said the expos would address a wide range of health and social issues faced by many members of the Scenic Rim community at some stage in their lives.

"From our savvy seniors to parents of pre-schoolers, the stallholders will have information on the National Disability Insurance Scheme, financial counselling, diet and nutrition, mental health and how to stay fit and well," he said.

"There is plenty of scope to connect with a new interest or new group or just find information on issues that may affect someone in your home.

"We want our residents to be as equipped as they can be for any challenges that arise and so I urge everyone to come along to any one of our three Get Savvy expos in March."

The Get Savvy expos will be held from 10am to 1pm on the following days and locations:

  • Monday 11 March, Boonah Cultural Centre
  • Tuesday 19 March, Tamborine Mountain Library
  • Wednesday 27 March, The Centre, Beaudesert
