Legs Eleven! It's Time for Volunteer Bingo

The contribution of Scenic Rim volunteers will be celebrated at three bingo mornings across the region during National Volunteer Week next month.

It will be more than 'lucky for some', as there are plenty of prizes and giveaways, as well as a free morning tea for all.

Mayor Greg Christensen said this was a chance for those who rarely want to be in the spotlight to be recognised for their hard work in local communities.

"With this year's National Volunteer Week theme being, 'making a world of difference', we can definitely agree that's what they do here in the Scenic Rim," he said.

"Volunteers are the lifeblood of our community and we thank them for their dedication and hard work which often goes unrecognised."

Volunteer bingo sessions will take place from 10am to 11:30am on the following days at these locations:

  • Tuesday 21 May, Canungra School of the Arts,
  • Wednesday 22 May, Kalbar School of Arts, and
  • Thursday 23 May, Tamborine Memorial Hall.

National Volunteer Week runs from 20 to 26 May, with 2019 the 30th year of its celebration across Australia.
