Scenic Rim's littlest farmers are jumping for joy with the opening of a new all-abilities tractor-themed playground at Moffatt Park, Aratula.

Mayor Greg Christensen said capturing the strong history of the Scenic Rim agricultural sector in the design of the play equipment had been paramount.

With a tractor at the core of the design, the playground structure also includes a wheelchair-accessible driving panel as well as two other drivers panels, two large tube slides, a crawling tunnel, talking tubes, an all-abilities swing unit, climbing net, spring play seats and sandstone seating.

Moffatt Park is one of the latest play spaces to be opened under Council's 10-year Playground Strategy which will see the transformation of key recreational areas throughout the Scenic Rim.

"In all our new playgrounds we have endeavoured to create spaces that are not only interesting and inviting for children but also styled to reflect the surrounding community," Cr Christensen said.

"We recognise the significant community value that these play spaces attract and promote by drawing visitors to our towns.

"Projects like Moffatt Park illustrate how Council's investment in infrastructure provides not only core assets, such as roads and bridges, but also community facilities and amenities which help make our towns and villages a great place to live and raise a family."

Cr Christensen said the students at Aratula State School would benefit directly from the play space which could be utilised for outdoor learning.

"In the designing phase, Aratula State School students were able to take part in a colouring competition to highlight outdoor activities within the Scenic Rim," he said.

"These pictures were then transferred to the play space sign and the matching game which is hidden throughout the park.

"This investment and collaboration in playgrounds allows Scenic Rim Regional Council to provide play spaces that are educational and engaging for our youngest residents."
