Boonah's popular Springleigh Park has a vibrant new look and new equipment in line with Scenic Rim Regional Council's 10-Year Playground Strategy.

Deputy Mayor Rick Stanfield said Council's commitment to developing vibrant towns and villages will see a new generation enjoying Boonah's playground.

A new rock climbing wall has been installed in the playspace which provides a number of challenges combining body strength and coordination as well as the opportunity to experience nature with lifelike discoveries of fossils within the glass fibre reinforced concrete rocks.

Other revitalisation works include the repainting of all playground equipment surfaces, the installation of new soft fall and the inclusion of a new sandstone seating wall.

"These infrastructure works not only bring revitalisation and a handy tourist stop to Boonah, but also a new level of attraction to our already well-loved Springleigh park space," Cr Stanfield said.

"There is something for everyone in this freshly revamped play space, as there are multiple entry and exit routes, a make-your-own adventure trail and plenty of sand for digging and building play."

Cr Stanfield said the revitalisation of playgrounds within the Scenic Rim aimed to create spaces which were interesting and inviting for children and to reflect the ambience of the surrounding community.

"Investment in playgrounds, such as Springleigh Park, takes into account the needs of the growing number of families in our region and community expectations to engage our young people," he said.

"I look forward to seeing more families enjoying this upgraded playspace."
