Scenic Rim residents are invited to learn more about the Beaudesert Town Centre Revitalisation project at an information session being hosted by Scenic Rim Regional Council next week.

As part of Council's Vibrant Towns and Villages Initiative, the Beaudesert Town Centre Revitalisation project aims to deliver a built environment, which resonates with residents, provides a relaxed rural atmosphere and also yields a social and economic dividend for the Beaudesert community.

The public information session will allow the community to preview the Beaudesert Town Centre Revitalisation concept. Details below:

Date: Monday 9 December

Time: Doors opening at 5:30pm for a 6:00pm presentation

Venue: Beaudesert Golf Club, Kerry Road, Beaudesert

Council looks forward to your feedback and working together towards a sustainable and vibrant Beaudesert.

For those unable to make it in the evening, the design team will be available during the day on Monday 9 December from 10:00am - 12:00noon and 1:00pm - 3:00pm at The Centre, 82 Brisbane Street, Beaudesert for one-on-one conversations.

Background

In September 2016, the Beaudesert Town Centre Masterplan was presented for consultation to the community. The public provided feedback through both formal and informal consultation, including one-on-one one engagement with the community in the town centre and through a ‘Question and Answer’ format during trader and community forums. The engagement highlighted the following four key community priorities, which have been considered as part of the Beaudesert Town Centre Revitalisation project:

•           greening with shade trees and boulevards

•           creating a community hub/destination/library/heart

•           creating welcoming gateways with improved amenities, and

•           walkable streets and linkages.
