Scenic Rim Regional Council has school holiday fun in the bag, with a range of boredom-busting activities for all ages and abilities throughout the summer break.

Scenic Rim Mayor Greg Christensen said there was something for everyone across Council's libraries, cultural centres and even a camping experience on offer.

"We're really pleased to be able to host events during these summer holidays as we've had to cancel many of our activities over the past year due to COVID-19," he said.

"Our school holiday activities provide an opportunity for our young residents to have some fun, learn new things and make new friends.

"Some of the events are ticketed, so we would encourage parents to keep an eye on our Facebook page, and the Live at the Centre website for booking details."

Council's libraries will host Fairy Tale Science events, as well as releasing weekly themed activity packs, complete with materials and instructions to take home for kids to get creative. Children can also take part in a Summer Reading Challenge where they can compete and earn badges.

Throughout January, there will be a packed program of arts and cultural events as well as the popular Kids’ Flicks movie screenings at The Centre Beaudesert and Boonah Cultural Centre.

The Kids Flicks program includes the animations Scoob!, Trolls World Tour, Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs, as well as family films The Secret Garden, Mia and the White Lion, Think Like a Dog, and the fantasy Come Away. See www.liveatthecentre.com.au for screenings.

We are also offering a range of free and low-cost workshops catering for all ages, interests and abilities including morning tea cooking class, learning to create mini artists books and making and decorating your own cape.

As a spin-off from our popular Be Healthy and Active Program, a one-day Kids’ Camping Experience for school-aged children is being offered
