Council has appointed a new Deputy Mayor under its annual review of Elected Members appointments at Tuesday's Ordinary Meeting.

Division 2 Councillor Jeff McConnell has been appointed through resolution as the Scenic Rim Regional Council Deputy Mayor for the next twelve months.

"I would like to congratulate and thank Councillor Enright for the term he served as Deputy Mayor.," he said.

"I look forward to the opportunities this role will present over the next twelve months while continuing to work alongside the Mayor and fellow Councillors."

Since 2016, the position of Deputy Mayor has been rotated annually amongst Elected Members.

Council also endorsed nominated Councillor representation on various internal and external committees and forums, including a number of advisory groups, for the period of May 2022 to May 2023, with a review to continue to be held annually.

Council will now officially advise the various organisations of the respective appointed Councillor representatives.

Councillor representation on committees and forums helps ensure that Council remains connected with the local community while advocating for the needs of our region on a range of matters affecting South East Queensland and Queensland.

A full list of adopted Councillor Representation on Committees and Forums 2022 - 2023 will be available in the coming days through the Meeting Minutes of the Ordinary Meeting held on Tuesday 24 May 2022.
