A new single-stage subdivision, providing 28 residential lots in Kalbar, has been approved following Council’s endorsement at yesterday’s Ordinary Meeting.

The residential subdivision at 20 Charles Street, Kalbar, creates 28 residential lots, balance lots, and new roads to service the subdivision.

The proposed residential lots range from between 690m2 and 1235m2, with an average lot size of more than 800m2.

The subdivision will include some 570 metres of new road, including a continuation of Settlers Drive, which provides the primary access to the development.

The subdivision is located in the Low-Density Residential Zone and generally complies with the relevant codes of the Scenic Rim Planning Scheme 2020.

Scenic Rim Mayor Greg Christensen said the subdivision represented another significant milestone for the development of the Kalbar township.

“Newly developed residential areas within our rural towns have proven popular with many families making the Scenic Rim their new home,” he said.

Division 6 Councillor Duncan McInnes said the site in Kalbar provides residents an opportunity for country living while still being connected to Boonah and Ipswich Central.

“This development will be good for Kalbar, enabling more people to live in the Scenic Rim which offers a relaxed and affordable lifestyle," he said.
