Cinema at the Boonah Cultural Centre scheduled to re-open tomorrow night

The Cinema at the Boonah Cultural Centre is scheduled to re-open at 6pm tomorrow evening, Friday 5 August, with a screening of the movie Top Gun: Maverick (M).

DATE:             Friday 5 August, 2022.

TIME:              Function commences at 6.00pm. Official proceedings will take place at 6.30pm and the movie will commence at 7.00pm.

WHERE:         Boonah Cultural Centre - 3 High St, Boonah QLD 4310

WHO:              Mayor Greg Christensen will officially open the event, alongside special guest 'Tom Cruise'. Federal Member for Wright, Scott Buchholz MP will also be in attendance.

HOW:              Tickets cost $10.00 for adults and $7.50 for concessions and includes a drink and canapes upon arrival. There is lots of fun activities planned to celebrate the re-opening of the cinema.

 

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

The cinema refurbishment project is proudly supported by the Australian and Queensland governments, and included the acquisition and installation of a digital projector and associated fittings; as well as installation of a digital cinema audio system, screen, acoustic curtains, and augmented hearing facilities.

Stage One of the project was a joint initiative and co-funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments’ Local Economic Recovery Program through Category D of the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements, and Scenic Rim Regional Council. Stage One of the project included the acquisition and installation of a digital projector and associated fittings.

Stage Two of the project was co-funded by the Queensland Department of State Development, Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning via the South East Queensland Community Stimulus Package and Council. Stage Two included installation of a digital cinema audio system, screen, acoustic curtains, and augmented hearing facilities.
