Council grants add value to community organisations

Events such as Kalbar Country Day in October have been supported in Council's Community Grants program
Scenic Rim Regional Council is investing more than $243,000 in community organisations through grants supporting 36 local projects across the region.
At its Ordinary Meeting yesterday, Council allocated $157,873 for 10 major projects and $85,389 for 26 minor projects through Round One of the 2025–2026 Scenic Rim Community Grants Program.
Community, Arts and Culture Portfolio Councillor Kerri Cryer said the Community Grants Program reflects Council’s commitment to healthy, engaged and resourceful communities.
“These grants help grassroots organisations deliver projects that matter to our communities, from upgrading facilities and improving accessibility, to creating events that bring people together,” she said.
“By endorsing these allocations, Council is investing in the people and organisations who bring our region to life.”
Projects supported in Round One include upgrades to halls and sporting facilities, solar and water infrastructure, safety improvements, and community events such as the Tamborine Village Lions Club's Christmas in the Village and Beaudesert Community Carols.
“Council held both online and face-to-face information sessions and provided one-on-one support to help local groups prepare their applications and make sure the program meets their needs and supports the projects they care about,” Cr Cryer said.
"This has resulted in stronger applications and ensures the program is delivering real benefits for our towns and villages.
“The Scenic Rim is home to passionate community groups that make a real difference, and Council is proud to invest in their work."
