Following the latest advice from the Australian and Queensland Governments, we will be temporarily closing the following public and community facilities in response to COVID-19.

Council-controlled campgrounds

Council is following advice from the State Government and will temporarily close all Council-controlled campgrounds within the Scenic Rim Region as of close of business Thursday 26 March 2020, until further notice. Signage indicating the closure of these campgrounds will be installed in the coming days. This includes the campgrounds located at:

  1. Andrew Drynan Park, Running Creek
  2. Bigriggan Park, Rathdowney
  3. Burgess Park, Lamington
  4. Darlington Park, Kerry
  5. Stinson Park, Lamington
  6. Flanagan Reserve, Barney View
  7. Lake Moogerah Caravan Park, Moogerah
  8. Sharp Park, Witheren, and
  9. Rathdowney Memorial Grounds, Rathdowney

All requests for refunds on pre-bookings can be requested through the park operator at each location.

Playgrounds and barbecues

Council will temporarily close all Council-controlled playgrounds and will switch off all electric barbecues within the Scenic Rim region as of close of business Thursday 26 March 2020, until further notice. Signage indicating the closure of these playgrounds and barbecues will be installed in the coming days.

Community leased facilities

Council will temporarily close all Council-controlled community leased facilities within the Scenic Rim region as of close of business Wednesday 25 March 2020, until further notice following the advice from the Australian Government's announcement regarding closing community facilities and also banning non-essential gatherings to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.  Council has advised all lessees of community facilities of the requirement to close. If you are a regular user of these facilities please contact the community group that facilitates your access to these facilities if you have any questions.
