Historic Ipswich Planning Scheme

Ipswich Planning Scheme 2006 (Historic)

The parts of Ipswich Planning Scheme 2006 that applied to the Scenic Rim local government area were superseded by the commencement of the Scenic Rim Planning Scheme 2020 and are now historic.

In accordance with the Queensland Government's local government boundary reforms, parts of the Ipswich City Council local government area became part of Scenic Rim Regional Council on 15 March 2008. Scenic Rim Regional Council now administers all development and land use planning within this area.

The latest version of the superseded Ipswich Planning Scheme came into effect on 20 June 2018. It incorporates Amendments 1, 2, 4 & 5.

Planning Scheme variations

The version of the Ipswich Planning Scheme 2006 operating in the area administered by Ipswich City Council is different to the version of the superseded Ipswich Planning Scheme 2006 operating in the Scenic Rim Regional Council area.

Temporary Local Planning Instrument (Superseded)

Temporary Local Planning Instrument 01/2019 (Flood Hazard) (TLPI) (historic) is a local planning instrument which suspends and overrides the operation (in part) of Council's historic planning schemes. The TLPI applies provisions for the Scenic Rim that either update or introduce a flood hazard overlay map and code that applies to development in a Flood Hazard Area. Development that is proposed on land affected by flood must check mapping (the Overlay maps) and refer to the TLPI.
