New Residents
Council is excited to welcome new residents to the Scenic Rim with the Shop Local Voucher program.
These vouchers are designed to connect you with local businesses and services across the region. They include exclusive offers and discounts that encourage you to buy local.
These vouchers will be included in the New Residents’ Pack, which you will receive from Council shortly after you settle into your new home.
Please note that these vouchers are available exclusively to new residents.
This initiative is part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to supporting local businesses and ensuring you feel at home in your new community.
Voucher Terms and Conditions
Outlined below is a series of terms and conditions relating to the Shop Local Voucher program.
Businesses
Council is inviting businesses across the Scenic Rim to take part in the Shop Local Vouchers program—a new initiative aimed at supporting local businesses and encouraging new residents to shop locally.
By participating, you can feature a special offer or voucher in the New Residents’ Pack, which is distributed monthly by Council to people who are new to the area.
Participation is FREE and an easy way to increase visibility among new residents in the community!
Offer must be valid until 30 June 2026. Limit of one offer/voucher per business.
How to get involved?
1. Register your participation in the program

3. Council will design your voucher
4. Once approved, your offer will appear in the Shop Local Vouchers included in the monthly New Residents' Pack

By being involved, your business will be promoted to new residents which may contribute too attracting more customers who are passionate about supporting their community. It helps build a loyal customer base, increasing visibility and sales.

There is no cost to be involved in the program. It is the businesses responsibility to ensure the offer is financially viable.

Businesses will submit a single offer by completing this form. Businesses can become involved by submitting an offer at any time, with vouchers being updated on a monthly basis.

These vouchers will be included in the New Residents’ Pack distributed by Council on a monthly basis via mail to new residents identified by Council. On average, over 100 packs are distributed each month.

Offers will remain current until 30 June 2026. Vouchers provided to new residents are for single use only.

It is anticipated the first round of vouchers will be distributed to new residents in December 2024.

Offers will remain current until 30 June 2026, with a review prior to this date with participating businesses. If due to unforeseen circumstances the business can no longer honour the voucher, the business can contact Council's Regional Prosperity team to discuss further.

The program provides added exposure of your businesses to new residents. Consumers are more likely to trust businesses that are visible participants in supporting their community.

When consumers buy local, they are helping to create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and strengthen the community. Money spent locally circulates within the region, supporting other businesses and local services.
