Regional Development Australia - Ipswich Region

Regional Development Australia is a partnership between Australian, State, and local governments to strengthen regional communities and to ensure their long-term sustainability. Regional Development Ipswich & West Moreton (RDA IWM) is led by a committee of community leaders from across the region. The region takes in the Scenic Rim local government area as well as those of Ipswich, Lockyer and Somerset.RDA IWM operates independently of government but works with elected representatives from federal, state and local governments and government agencies.

AusIndustry is the Australian Government's business unit within the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science. AusIndustry provides a range of incentives for Australian businesses to invest, innovate and be internationally competitive. Their products cover a range of industry sectors and business needs. They are delivered in the form of grants, loans, tax and duty concessions and access to venture capital.

The Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) is the Australian Government agency that offers practical advice, market intelligence and ongoing support (including financial) to Australian businesses looking to develop international markets. Austrade also provides advice and guidance on overseas investment and joint venture opportunities, and helps put Australian businesses in contact with potential overseas investors.

Department of State Development

The Department of State Development's regional office, based in Ipswich, services the local government areas of the Scenic Rim as well as Ipswich, Lockyer Valley and Somerset. 

The Department delivers a range of services to achieve regional economic growth, transform and build up industries, and to assist business owners improve their operational and management skills.

Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ)

TIQ is the Queensland Government's dedicated global business agency, with a charter to provide information and advice to help Queensland companies take advantage of export opportunities in markets around the world (through consultation, planning, trade missions, networking and events and preparing for export) and also to help potential interstate and overseas investors find and take advantage of the opportunities in our state and region.

The Chambers of Commerce and Tourism Organisations in the Scenic Rim meet regularly to promote ideas, meet with business partners and support new service providers.  As peak business organisations, they enjoy excellent relations with all levels of government and foster open discussions with elected representatives and Council staff.  The Chambers actively lobby on various subjects on behalf of their members  deliver significant benefits to local members.
